It’s January and cold down in London, but the days are getting longer and soon signs of life will start to blossom.

As we leap into the new year, there's an undeniable buzz of excitement in the air. The days are stretching their arms, and the nights are gradually stepping back, making way for more sunshine. Soon, we'll witness the blooming of fresh ideas and opportunities, just like the vibrant blossoms ready to burst forth.

For the dance scene in London, this period of renewal brings significant changes and fresh prospects. It's a time for innovation, new beginnings and embracing the rhythm of transformation.

2024 brought plenty of opportunities, Waggle Dance twirled through Dance Maven and a fun festival season.

What a year 2024 turned out to be for Waggle Dance Co.! The company danced through a series of triumphant successes, starting with the Dance Maven Programme. Thanks to an incredibly supportive community, their Kickstarter campaign not only reached its goal but soared to 105%!

Alongside this, the fabulous Sharifa, our dedicated social media intern, played a crucial role in helping Waggle Dance Co. extend our reach. With his support, they delivered an impressive 63+ extra hours of dance to enthusiastic pupils in and around Enfield. To top it all off, Waggle Dance Co. took their workshops on the road, lighting up festivals like Happy Place Festival, Torchlight and Old Town Live across the UK. The company’s vibrant energy and commitment truly made 2024 a year to remember!

2025 will be full of brand new adventures, as we have our 5 year anniversary coming up which we plan to celebrate for a year.

Up first we are going to be doing an Explorative Dance session for the NHS as part of their Creative Health in Enfield Taster Afternoon. More information about this can be found on our Instagram post and will be held at Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield, North London.

Fingers crossed that this event goes well and will become a more frequent event. This professional relationship will allow the use of the Mindfulness training that was achieved last year.

We also have started the preparations for the Waggle Dance 5 year anniversary which we plan on celebrating over a year starting in May. A series of online dance classes will be starting, and filming will start soon, we just need to finalise details with a videographer. The music which will be used in the videos has been created by the wonderful Gaet Allard.
