1. Creativity & Originality
We believe in producing work that is imaginative and unique, valuing the individual movement, voice and perspective that every young artist brings.
2. Inclusivity & Access
Every person deserves the chance to explore dance, regardless of age, ability, background or experience level. We strive to remove barriers and welcome all participants.
3. Community & Collaboration
We build to connect — with venues like museums and libraries, with other artists and facilitators, and most importantly with young people themselves. Co-creation, teamwork, and shared learning are at the heart of what we do.
4. Confidence & Self-Expression
We encourage young people to be themselves through movement, to take risks, and to build confidence both on and off the dance floor.
5. Well-being & Growth
We see dance as more than performance; it’s a practice that supports physical health, mental health, resilience, focus, discipline, and joy.
6. Respect for Nature & Environment
Inspired by the waggle dance in nature—unique, communicative, purposeful - we embed ideas about ecology, nature, and environment into our work wherever possible.
When bees communicate, they dance. The waggle dance is like a bee’s Satnav: a figure-of-eight movement that tells the hive where to find food, using the angle of the sun and direction of the flowers. It’s a unique, purposeful way of sharing vital information through movement.
At Waggle Dance Co., we are inspired by nature. Just like the waggle dance, we believe dance is the most powerful form of communication. Each of our participants is unique, and we celebrate that individuality by creating spaces where dance becomes a language — where stories are told through bodies, creativity is shared, and collective energy moves us toward brighter, healthier futures together.
We provide storytelling and dance workshops for young artists, using creative movement to nurture fitness, focus, and freedom. Our mission is to make a positive impact on both physical and mental well-being, helping children and young people build confidence, self-expression, and joy through dance.
At Waggle Dance Co, we work with young artists in educational settings, museums, libraries and festivals offering workshops, creative residencies, performance opportunities, and youth-led dance projects. Whether through school dance days, after-school clubs, parent & toddler classes, storytelling in nurseries, pop-ups in museums, or on dynamic festival stages, we aim to bring dance into communities in ways that are inspiring, accessible, and rooted in collaboration.
